The CEF of Greater Cincinnati chapter was chartered on December 2, 1968. At that time Fern Hederstead was the director. Betty Davis followed Fern and continued the work until the fall of 1999 when Patricia Beatty, became the local director. She is presently our only full-time worker. Imogene, the office administrator, is a part-time worker and Glady Sillin volunteers as our financial secretary. We also have over 30 volunteers working in the clubs.
The current local committee: Curtis Staples as Chairman, Gary Renner as Vice Chairman, Meredith Landers as Secretary, Teri Burwinkel as treasurer, other members include Chris Cohens, Joyce Wright and Pam Staples. We are always looking for more committed people to join us.
In 2005, CEF of Greater Cincinnati began an all-out push to promote After-School Good News Clubs. Our goal is to have an After-School Good News Club in every elementary school in the Greater Cincinnati area. Our area includes Hamilton, Clermont, Butler and Warren counties with over 290 schools. Your prayers, involvement, and investment in the lives of children is important to us.
Biography of Patricia Beatty
Patricia has been with Child Evangelism Fellowship for over 35 years. Her ministry experience includes:
- Working at the International Headquarters in the Tree House Club (TV ministry) 1971 - 1976
- Working as a field worker and local Training Director in Akron, OH 1976 - 1981
- Working as a Leadership Training Instructor for the Education Department 1981 - 1991
- Working as a Training Instructor and Director of Training for New York City, NY
- Current local director
Patricia has much experience in training teachers and working directly with children, including inner city children in New York City for 12 years. She has taught as an instructor for Child Evangelism Fellowship's Children Ministry Institute, the New York School of the Bible and in two Moody Bible Institute extension schools. She is a graduate of Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music, where she majored in Christian Education. Patricia is also a graduate of the Children's Ministry Institute and has taken several other courses to enhance her teaching ministry. At present Patricia is the local director for CEF of Greater Cincinnati and a Leadership Training Instructor for the Education Department at the CEF International Headquarters. Patricia teaches Teaching Children Effectively courses level 1 and level 2 (30 hour courses) as an extension of the Children's Ministry Institute locally, and in instructor courses. As a Leadership Training Instructor, Patricia has a real burden to reach children for Christ and train others who may be able to teach others also. (2 Timothy 2:2)
