WHAT THEY ARE....
CEF of Greater Cincinnati, in conjunction with resources from CEF Headquarters, offers various ministry opportunities, one of which is named "After School Good News Clubs"

Taking God to the Elementary Schools-Right now the After-School Good News Club® is the primary focus of outreach ministry here in the greater Cincinnati area. We work in cooperation with public schools to supplement the children's education with Biblical principles. Sound Bible teaching helps children grow spiritually and provides positive impact on their personal and home life, community involvement and school performance.

The Supreme Court ruled in 2001 in Good News Clubs v. Milford Central School that Good News Clubs can meet in public schools after school hours on the same terms as other community groups. Thus, churches nationwide are adopting public schools for Good News Club ministry in a partnership with CEF. Your church can reach out to your community through after-school Good News Clubs!

HOW THEY WORK....
The Good News Club has been referred to as taking a high powered Sunday School to the public school. Each week a teacher presents an exciting Bible lesson using colorful materials from CEF Press. This action-packed time with the children also includes songs, Scripture memory, a missions story and review games or other activities focused on the lesson's theme.

The purpose of after-school Good News Clubs is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and establish (disciple) them in the Word of God and in a local church for Christian living. To accomplish this goal, each club includes a clear presentation of the Gospel and an opportunity for children to trust Jesus as Savior. Each club also includes strong discipleship training to build character and strengthen moral and spiritual growth. All clubbers are encouraged to attend a local church.

5-Days Clubs
During the summer CEF holds 5-Day Clubs. They could be described as a Vacation Bible school without the craft that meets in a home, park, backyard, day care center or wherever you find children. 5-Day Clubs meet for five consecutive days in different locations throughout the area. Children hear a Bible lesson, learn Bible verses, listen to an exciting missionary story, play games and hear the Gospel clearly presented.

Most of the 5-Day Clubs are taught by teens and college age young people. Adults are also welcome to join and we have had school teachers teach 5-Day Clubs in the summer. To learn more about summer missions visit www.summermissions.com
